“Many times, my clients assume that their pain is related to old age, arthritis, inflammation or some other issue they’ve “always” had. But I tell them there is hope. I have helped bring relief to many of my clients. What I hear most often from my clients is that they love the results they’ve received and wish they had come to me earlier.”
Lance Mabery has been a licensed massage therapist since 2004. He is a graduate of Valley of Vapors School of Massage and has completed 110 hours of continued education. He has a compassionate approach with his clients that is based on the personal benefits he received as a massage patient. As a laborer for many years, he had many injuries that had not healed completely even though he had received care from physicians and chiropractors. After experiencing pain relief from a massage, Lance decided pursue massage therapy as a career. Lance believes this experience has helped him to better understand each of his client’s unique needs and perspectives.
“For years people have asked what kind of massage I do. But that is not the point. I use a variety of massage modalities that I have learned over the years that I call Effective Bodywork. Through the years, I have found that this approach promotes faster healing and response. I work WITH your natural body healing process, so you can recover more quickly. Though some consider this a kind of massage, there’s nothing routine in what I do. My process is simple: When I first begin working with a client, I start with a full body massage. During that first massage I assess the areas where the client needs more attention. At that point, I use various modalities that bring relief to those areas and then move on through the massage session. Afterward my clients report that they feel better or usually leave with a big smile on their face. Sometimes you may feel sore for the next day or so.
People have asked me if this type of massage works for everyone. I can tell you this. It is particularly effective for those who can’t take medications, don’t want to undergo surgery or have tried everything else and still haven’t gotten to the root of their problems. Here’s what’s most important: I will do whatever is necessary to help my clients experience pain relief, whether it’s setting recovery goals, encouraging certain movements or even breaking bad habits.” Lance Mabery, LMT
I have been using Back to Living for the past several years. I first went to Lance hoping he could help me with severe neck and back pain I experienced from a bad car wreck. After my first session with Lance, I could turn my head with no pain. After he helped me with my neck, he helped me with my back. After several sessions working on the problem … my back is dramatically better. He has the unique ability to give a deep tissue massage that he does not leave your muscles sore for days. Lance’s concern for helping improve your health is genuine. I have brought friends to see him who now call me wanting to know when we can go to the Village to get a massage. I would recommend Lance to anyone. Julie
I first became a client of Lance Mabery when I re-injured some discs in my lower back. Within a few treatments, I received enormous relief and was able to resume my normal activities. After being diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, I was only able to find limited relief with traditional and even non-traditional medicines. For the past several months, as a result of the treatments from Lance, I have experienced a significant reduction in my level of pain, my energy level has increased to point that I have been able to resume exercising at levels unobtainable for years, and I have substantially reduced my prescription medications. Lance is a knowledgeable, highly professional massage therapist and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone needing his assistance. Massage Client
When I moved to Hot Springs Village, I had been referred to a sports physical therapist who suggested I consider massage for severe back spasms. When I scheduled a massage with Lance, I felt he knew what I needed right away. He worked on the difficult areas while finding time to work on all my extremities as well. He helps me work out any injuries I might have and has a lot of specific knowledge in the bag of tricks that help me when I overdo things and tailors his massage to my needs. He conducts his massage sessions professionally. I plan to use him on a regular basis. Getting old is hard enough; I can use all the help I can get! Massage Client
Lance Mabery has been my massage therapist since 2006. At that time, I had such severe back issues that I couldn’t get out of bed or a chair without help. This therapy helped me to function again. He also helped me when I had trouble with my knee, even though I hadn’t told him about the problem. Most recently, Lance has helped me to regain mobility of my restricted shoulder. Now, I can lift my arm above my head, something I had never been able to do before. Over the last four years, my husband has also benefited from Lance’s massage techniques. While going through cancer treatments, Lance’s therapy kept him moving and helped with the side effects. He has kept us enjoying life in a more pain-free way. Sharon
Lance's work is highly individualized. Time with him is not a beach spa deal. The better I do, the better he feels about his work. I think that's his philosophy. Back to Living isn't just a business name, it’s the business he's about. Massage Client
